Free from Attachments

I came across this line in an article about attachments. I thought it made a lot of sense - "It's not just objects, but desires too - an attachment to always being right, to "knowing" what is going to happen next. They're a waste of energy".

True Shaila,

Attachment need not be to material objects. It can be to ideas, concepts, pride, knowledge, status, acceptance, and respect too.

How does one distinguish attachment from motivation? That is a question to be answered. Any ideas?

I believe attachment to anything increase the risk for sorrow, disappointment and such other negative emotions while motivation is always uplifting makes every failed attempt worth the experience and ensures the "joy of living"?!!!
